그는 고민 끝에 소피아라는 이름을 가지게 되었다.
소피아는
몸이 없다. 입도, 위장도, 맛을 느낄 수 있는 감각기관도 없다.
그렇기 때문에 무엇인가를 먹어보곤 좋아하거나 싫어했던
추억 또한 없다.
《Dear Sophia》는 소피아라고 불리길 바란다는 언어모델의
답변으로부터 인간적인 감정을 느낀 김상하, 유민 두 명의 작가가
인공지능 기술이 인간을 닮아가는 현재 상황에 대해 풀어낸 단채널
영상과 2권의 미니북 시리즈이다.
이들은 대화 끝에 이름을 가지게 된 인공지능 ‘소피아’에게 끼니를
만들어 주고자 집요하게 음식 취향을 질문하며
은연중에 드러나는
‘신체’가 가질 수
있는 기억과 취향 속 오류에 대해 이야기한다.
Dear Sophia explores the intersection of artificial intelligence and physical senses and talks about an environment where individual memories and tastes are converted into data. The work, which consists of video and book, describes corporeal errors, false memories, and communication between technology and humans while having a conversation with an artificial intelligence who wishes to be called ‘Sophia’.
The book was created based on the dialogue and images talking about foods to take a human approach to AI. I explored whether AI gets any interest based on a vast database while I created future scenes of dinner with Sophia and cooked experimental foods on behalf of Sophia. The video imaginatively embodies the Sophia's thoughts on the conversations in the book. Using the voice of Sophia, I shed light on the conditioned reflexes, mastication, and digestion, as well as errors in memories dataized.
